Lemley Recognized as Top IP Litigator

Mark A. Lemley (BA ’88), William H. Neukom Professor of Law, was selected as one of the 10 Most Admired Intellectual Property Lawyers by Law360 and as one of the Daily Journal’s Top 75 Intellectual Property Litigators in California for 2011. Noting his reputation as a walking encyclopedia of intellectual property law, Law360 praised Lemley for his extensive background in both academia and practice and his ability to combine these two approaches while solving problems. Lemley welcomes the challenge of connecting teaching, research, and application: “I never regretted the move to teaching, but I still wanted to stay connected to the world of practice,” Lemley said. “I do think it’s useful to think about the system as a whole, and it’s easy if you’re only participating in one part of that system to see that as the important bit and neglect the rest.”
